Exploring the card types

ATTRACTION

Attractions give you 1, 2, 3, or 4 points.

They also give you 0, 1, 2, or 3 symbols.

These are the most basic cards in the game but also very important ones to a lot of stratergies. They are the most symbols-heavy cards and help you collect the matching 4 to score bonuses and help to collect the Employee bonuses as well.

Thrills

Thrills give you points based on how many you get compared to your opponents. There are 3 different thrill cards. Either they give you one thrill point and two symbols, 2 thrills and one symbol or they are underworld cards and give you 3 thrills.

If you get the most thrills you will be awarded 12 points, and as second you get 4 points, and third and fourth get 0 points.

When there is a draw for first they add up 1st and 2nd for 16 (12+4) and divide it on the drawn players rounded down. 2 player drawn gives them 8 each. 3players would give them 5 each and so on.

These cards can give a player a huge amount of points but if too many slots are used to win the thrill battle the less value the cards you got will have.

GAMES

The Game cards get better the more you have. They score you points based on number of copies in the following order. 1-3-6-9-12-16-20 and then +5.

So if you have 3 copies you score 6 points, if you have 5 copies you score 12.
There are 9 normal copies of Game cards and they also have a symbol on them. Then there are 3 copies of Underworld games that instead of a symbol have an extra point on them. The fact that some games will be hidden keeps the players on their toes more, since they are not entirely sure how many games their opponents might have.

EMPLOYEES

We used to have employee cards and underworld dealings but choose to combine them into one card.

Before the Underworld dealing were cards that gave players an effect when a certain amount of symbols were collected. but after more playtesting, we felt that these cards disrupted the flow too much, and having the players constantly looking at their underworld cards to remind themself which symbols they were missing was not good.

In our updated version we have only employees but they look a little different depending on if they are normal or underworld.

The normal ones have an imminent effect when drafted and then a symbol bonus they can score at the end.

The underworld one has a points-based effect that can help players go for certain strategies and reward them if they succeed.
